The Left Knee

Monday, 28 June 2010 12:08 by hagermanr

I had surgery number four today so forgive me if this post is a little off given the pain meds I’m on.

Dr Frost went in and manipulated the knee. he got it from somewhere between 80 and 90 degrees of bend to 120 degrees! All within an hour. He also had to go in and scrape the inside of the knee a bit to keep it from binding up.

I have physical therapy for the next four days to keep the knee bending and then I’ll go to (PT) once or twice a week.

The boy comes home tonight. He has been in Washington DC and New York with some teachers and classmates this week. He has had a most excellent time!

My oldest is coming out to see me before he deploys to Afghanistan. He informed me tonight that he may have to cut his trip short as his unit is now on alert pending deployment. I also know though, that his unit has been on alert before and it has always turned out to be a training exercise. I’m hoping this is the same thing. I did the math and in his almost 19 years of life, I’ve actually seen him for a total of 15 months so I want all the time I can get with him. If he does not survive his combat deployment, I want to make sure that I have at least some time with him before he leaves.

I have registered for my next class. Only four more to go after this one and I’ll have my Masters! I am really looking forward to being done with it.

I am going to make a valiant attempt to keep this blog up to date with my personal and professional writings. I see no need for multiple blogs, especially when I don’t have enough to say about the technical part of life.
